Marlin Dark Series Muzzle Break

The "Comet Brake" is a slim, flush-fitting and aggressive muzzle brake that works especially well to reduce felt recoil.

* NOTE: These muzzle brakes were manufactured for the old Marlin 1895 Dark Series barrel from Marlin/Remington, which were manufactured before 2020.

You can choose between the following variants:

•     45-70: outer diameter .800" and 11/16 X 24 tpi thread
•     .44Mag: outside diameter .746" and .578 x 28 tpi thread
•     .357Mag: Outer diameter .746" and 1/2 x 28 tpi thread

Each muzzle brake is manufactured to exactly match the OD (outside diameter) and thread pitch (tpi) of the rifle make/model listed.

Your rifle MUST be threaded in order to use this muzzle brake.

If you plan to have your rifle threaded by a gunsmith, provide him with the exact specifications.

•     Robust, stress-resistant steel construction (salt bath black nitride steel 4140)
•     Reduces recoil and muzzle flash by approx. 25%.
•     No one size fits all (1.65" overall length, 1" hangs over the barrel when installed)
•     Designed for optimum performance and accuracy in single calibers
•     Hand tighten and use blue Loctite for installation, no indexing or torque specifications
